Dating a recovering anorexic

I was worried, but she never answered my calls or returned my text messages.

She apologized (profusely) out of the blue, two days later.

I think I'm in love with a girl with an eating disorder. I was instantly drawn to her; the closer I get, the more she sucks me in like a black hole. She seems to have a retort to every corny movie reference I make. I thought we had a lot in common, but I didn't quite realize then just how much.

Her parents had money so she got doctors, nutritionists and all that.Anorexia nervosa is diagnosed in women of all ages, and many of these women are in romantic relationships when they are diagnosed or after their diagnosis. What do these relationships look like and how are they experienced? We've been friends for nearly a year now, and I found out about two months ago that she's been struggling with for nearly three years now. Thing is, you have to realize that an eating disorder is a fucking terrible thing to go through. It's heartbreaking as I realize how much blame she places on herself for what she's going through, or how alone she feels. It consumes you in a way that's inexplicable, and you never really feel like anybody should want to date you.
